In our earlier blog post on CAPF exam, we had given you a synopsis of what the exam is all about. As mentioned in that post, this is a follow-up piece with the exam structure and syllabus of CAPF.
You should note that the CAPF exam is conducted in 3 rounds. The first round is the general written test with two papers. Paper 1 is on General Ability and Intelligence while Paper 2 is on General Studies, Essay and Comprehension. After you qualify in the first round, you will be called for the second round, which is the physical ability test. Here the metrics of performance appraisal are different for male and female candidates, as is the norm. We will get into the metrics when we discuss the structural metrics later on in this post. On qualifying in the second round, you will appear for the 3rd round, which is the Interview or Personality Test.
Let’s talk about the written tests in a bit of detail now. The first paper consists of 200 multiple choice questions or MCQ. The total mark on this paper is 250. The time duration is of 2 hours. The second paper has 6 descriptive questions with a total of 200 marks. The duration here is of 3 hours. As for the 2nd round of physical tests, there will be events like long jump, 100 metres and 800 metres races, along with a shot put event with 7.26kgs. The standards of getting through are:
The 3rd round interview or personality test will be of 150 marks.
