Female candidates have to complete their graduation before they can appear for defence services exams.

There Are Mainly Three Main Options After Plus Two:

TES Technical Entry: With this gate, you can enter the Indian Army. This options is open only for those who have studied science at their plus two levels. So, Physics, Chemistry and Maths (PCM) are compulsory. Moreover, you need to get an aggregate of 70% or more than that in PCM. If you make the cut, you will be eligible to appear for SSB interviews. The ultimate TES aggregate is usually somewhere between 78 to 85%. If you want to use this option, it is obvious that you have to be very good in PCM. Then you can train at the Officers’ Training Academy in Gaya.

NDA Exam: This is by far the more popular route of defence academy enthusiasts. The doors of all three wings of defence, army, navy and air force open through the NDA exams. This exam is conducted twice every year. Anyone who’s completed plus two is eligible for this exam, provided their age is between 16½ to 19½ years. If you have Maths and Physics in plus two, you can join the Air Force and Navy as well.

BTech Cadet Entry: This door is open only for the Indian Navy. Here too your plus two grades in PCM matter a lot. In fact, here you need 70% aggregate in PCM along with 50% of marks overall in 10th and 12th standards. You also need to qualify for the JEE Mains and your all-India rank will have a say in this matter. Candidates are shortlisted according to the all-India JEE Mains rank.
