Women Special Entry Scheme (WSES) For Defence Services

In this day and time, women are equally important in the context of the country’s defence services. To encourage women about joining the Army or Navy or Air Force, a special scheme has been launched for women defence aspirants. It is called Women Special Entry Scheme (WSES). The basic idea of the scheme is to enable more women into taking up the defence services as a career option. That will help the defence services engage the best minds in protecting the safety and security of the country. WSES is applicable for defence services exams like CDS, AFCAT and SSB.

There Are Some Eligibility Criteria For Women Who Wish To Avail The WSES. A Short Summary Is Given Here.

There is a distinction in the criteria for the Army, Navy and Air Force.
For the Army, the age limit needs to be between 19 and 27 years of age. For war widows, there is an age relaxation of 4 years. Women applying through this scheme need to be a graduate with 50% aggregate marks. They also need to qualify through the SSB interview. The time to apply is in December and June.

For the Air Force, the age limit is shorter, from 19 to 23 years of age. Women need to have Physics and Maths in their plus 2 stage. If they have a BE degree, it must be of 4 years duration. The entry door is through CET held by the CEP and the SSB interview. The time to apply is in May and November. This criteria is applicable for SBB.

Turning our attention to the AFCAT exam in this segment (for Air Force), the age coordinates are 20 through 23 years of age. They need to be a graduate with 60% exams. They have to go through EKT held by CEP. The time of applying for the exam is the same as the SSB segment. For the TECH chapter, women candidates must be of age 18 to 28 years with a first division in BE or BTech. The other details match with the AFCAT segment.
