The term “Central Armed Police Forces” refers to the consistent nomenclature used to identify the seven centrally organized, armed police agencies in India that the Ministry of Home Affairs governs. Their primary responsibility is to protect the national interest from internal threats.

Eligibility for Admission

The Union Public Service Commission establishes the criteria for CAPF eligibility. Central Armed Police Force is the full name of the organization. Seven Indian police organizations conduct the CAPF exam to hire Assistant Commandant (Group A) Officers. Candidates should make sure they meet all applicable CAPF exam eligibility requirements before applying for the 2022 exam.

Candidates are only admitted on a provisional basis at all levels if they meet UPSC requirements for the CAPF exam. Once a candidate has advanced to the interview process, the eligibility requirements are only verified using the original papers.

Among the requirements for UPSC CAPF eligibility are the following:


A candidate must be an Indian national to qualify for the CAPF exam in 2022. The Union Public Service Commission Central Armed Police Force exam is also open to people who are citizens of Nepal and Bhutan.

Candidates who are citizens of another nation do not meet the qualifying requirements for the Central Armed Police Force. Such candidates are only permitted to sit the CAPF exam with the Central Government’s permission, which must be supplied in writing to be considered.

Age Limit

Both males and females are entitled to take the UPSC CAPF Assistant Commandant Exam as long as they meet the requirements outlined in the medical criteria. The CAPF exam does not place any restrictions on the gender of the candidate.
To meet the minimal requirements for CAPF exam eligibility, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

Admission Procedure

Written Exam: CAPF AC Selection Procedure

The written entrance exam, which is held at the designated CAPF Exam Centers, is the first stage of the CAPF Recruitment process. The fundamental format for the CAPF AC Exam is provided below:

  • Paper I (of the objective type) and Paper II are the two papers (subjective type)
  • Paper I carries a 250-point weighting, while Paper II carries a 200-point weighting.
  • The first paper lasts for two hours, while the second takes three.
  • Paper I has questions in Hindi and English, while Paper II solely has questions in English.
  • Questions on general aptitude and intelligence are included in Paper I.
  • Essays, comprehension, and general studies questions are all included in the Paper

CAPF AC Recruitment: Interview

The last phase of the interview or personality test will be held for candidates who are found fit and pass the medical standards test. The UPSC CAPF Selection Process will award 150 points for this step.
It is significant to note that applicants who have been deemed medically incompetent but have been granted permission by the Appellate Authority to appear before the “Review Medical Board” in support of their appeal will also be invited for the final round.

Medical Exam & Physical Standards for CAPF AC Selection

The candidate’s medical assessment comes next in the CAPF AC 2022 selection method. To be eligible for this step, a candidate must receive the minimum aggregate marks specified in the UPSC CAPF Cut Off for the CAPF written test.
Candidates who meet the qualifications will be invited to do a medical standards test and a physical efficiency test. Yes. If you are selected after the written examinations, you will be called for an interview round. The interview is conducted by a panel of 4, including the chairperson and the other higher authorities.
Candidates must make sure they use the same terminology that is permitted for the question when writing their replies in Paper II. Any response sent in another format will not be taken into account.
Each paper’s CAPF AC 2022 Cutoff will be unique and determined by UPSC. For the Paper II responses to be considered, candidates must receive the minimum required marks in Paper I.
Candidates will be invited to the final round of the interviewing or personality test provided they are found fit and pass the medical standards test.
